Powerful enough for long-term use, cost-effective enough to use for migration from token ring to ethernet. ??Transparent connection for the same applications running on workstations attached to both Ethernet and token ring, minimizing LAN re-configurations. Dissimilar protocols (IPX, IP) may run on various workstations and still be routed successfully. Built-in support for TCP/IP, SNA, NetBIOS, and Novell IPX match largest installed base of workstations.
